fundo e largura não consigo editar o fundo e a largura do site

não consigo editar o fundo e a largura do site tenho que colocar um fundo degrade e sou tbm obrigado a " alargar " mais o site, estou tentando a dias e não está facil, se aguem puder me ajudar ficarei grato. segue um esboço que fiz a uns tempos do site:
